CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- UAlbany freshman midfielder Anthony Rozzano was named the America East Conference Rookie of the Week, which was voted on by the conference office. UAlbany won both of its matches last week against Towson, 3-2 in overtime, and Yale 2-0.

Rozzano, a Webster, N.Y. native, has begun his career at UAlbany with a bang. Having started the first three games for the Great Danes, the freshman midfielder has tallied five points in the past two matches. He helped score the first goal of the match against Towson with an assist to teammate Pomare Te Anau. Then Rozzano tied the match at two in the 65th minute to force overtime which would help the Great Danes win their first match against Towson all-time in six total matches.

Against Yale, Rozzano would put the exclamation point on well-deserved road-win, scoring in the 90th minute from a pass by Quintel Gates to give the Great Danes the insurance goal in the 2-0 win.

UAlbany has two matches this week, one on the road against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, September 7 then return home on Sunday, September 9 to play Hofstra.
