LINCROFT, N.J. -- UAlbany had the top three finishers, led by individual winner Brittney Lane, to take the team title at the Monmouth University Cross Country Kick-Off, held at Thompson Park on Saturday. The Great Danes posted a team score of 21, beating out second-place finishers Seton Hall by 45 points.

Lane finished the 4K course in 14:22.1, followed by Kathryn Fanning in second (14:34.7) and Miranda McConnell in third (14:36.6). The Great Danes also had one more top-ten finisher in Melissa Del Rosario, who crossed the line in 15:00.89 for seventh place overall.

Brianne Bellon placed 8th overall in 15:15.7, while Brianna Service crossed the finish line in 15:34.5 to earn a top-15 placing, as she finished 14th overall. In 24th place was Breanna Cummings with a time of 16:11.1, while Nicole Gillette finished 26th individually in 16:14.8. Amanda Eisenson finished 32nd in 16:26.7, followed by Rachel Wysocki (37th, 16:55.6) and Kendra Adams (41st, 17:21.2) to wrap up the UAlbany runners.

Seton Hall finished second as a team with 66 points. Host Monmouth tied for third place with Wagner with 74 points, while Saint Francis (NY) wrapped up the five-team race with 128 points.

UAlbany will continue its season on Friday, Sept. 14 at the America East Pre-Conference Meet at New Hampshire.
