Albany, N.Y.- UAlbany women's soccer head coach Mary-Frances Monroe announces the Great Danes 18-game schedule, which includes four of its six home games at the Plumeri Sports Complex and the remaining two at Union College. UAlbany looks to carry over on the late-season success of 2011 where the Great Danes finished out the season 7-1-1 to this season.

"We are excited to play against some great competition and adding variety to our non-conference schedule", said head coach Mary-Frances Monroe on the upcoming season. "This will prepare us for our conference games".

The Great Danes start out their 2012 schedule on the road for the first five games of the season. UAlbany begins by travelling west on Interstate 90 to play Big East opponent Syracuse on August 24 then turn around and go east on I-90 to face Atlantic-10 foe UMass on August 26. Following its road trip on I-90, the Great Danes will fly south for a weekend trip in North Carolina to play Western Carolina on August 31 then UNC-Asheville on September 2.

UAlbany returns to play a mid-week contest against Patriot League opponent Colgate on Wednesday, September 5 at 6 pm.

The Great Danes then open a two-game homestand against Cansius on Friday, September 7 and wrap up against Cornell on Sunday, Septermber 9.

UAlbany then finds itself with a four game road trip against Hofstra (Sept. 14), Northeastern (Sept. 16), Rhode Island (Sept. 21) then begin conference play against the defending America East Champion Boston U. on Sunday, September 23.

Then the Great Danes play the Seawolves of Stony Brook at home on Thursday, September 27 to wrap up the month of September.

UAlbany plays two on the road against Binghamton (Oct. 4) and Hartford (Oct. 7) then have a two-game homestand against New Hampshire (Oct. 11) and Vermont (Oct. 14).

The 2012 regular-season finishes with a road trip at Maine on October 18 and then senior day against UMBC on October 21 against UMBC.
