Albany, N.Y.- On what many players, coaches and assorted media described Monday, August 5 as "ideal" with the weather being a cool 76 degrees and breezy, the University at Albany Football team got underway with the 2012 preseason camp at John Fallon Field. UAlbany will be in training camp for the next three weeks before its first home season opener in seven years against Colgate on Saturday, September 1 at University Field.

The Great Danes will practice 22 times with three intrasquad scrimmaged during their preseason training camp. Week One entails Monday and Tuesday with just helmets, Wednesday and Thursday with uppers (shoulder pads and helmets) and Friday and Saturday with full pads, ending with Saturday, August 11 as their first intrasquad scrimmage.

Week Two and Three will entail having two-a-day practices, in full pads, on Monday and Wednesdays, with Week Two having a two-a-day practice on Friday. UAlbany will end its preseason camp with an upper practice on Saturday, August 25 before preparing for Colgate for its home season opener.
