New Orleans, La.- The UAlbany women's track & field squad was named to the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team for the 2012 track & field season. Over 171 teams were placed on the 2012 USTFCCCA All-Academic squad. 

UAlbany was recognized for their success off the track with team Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.04. Emily Finnegan had the highest GPA on the team with an astounding 3.96, which put her on the 2012 America East All-Academic Squad. This is the third consecutive season that the UAlbany women's track and field team have been named to this prestigious list.

The Great Danes had a successful 2012 season, having captured their fourth consecutive America East Conference Championship crown. UAlbany took home six individual titles, three on the track and three in the field, and the coaching staff was named the America East Coaching Staff of the Year.
