Short story: Men’s cross country places seventh overall in the first time hosting the America East Championship Meet since 2011.

 

How it happened

 

  • The men placed seventh overall, scoring 201 points
  • Charlie Ragone was the top finisher for UAlbany, placing 21st in 24:47.11
  • Stony Brook won the men’s title, scoring 22 points, their third title in four years
  • Stony Brook placed all five scorers in the top seven
  • UMass Lowell’s Christopher Alfond won the individual title in 23:38.86
  • Alfond’s time breaks the record of the current course, established in 2013, of 24:44.0 set in 2017 by Ryan Udvadia, and the overall UAlbany course record of 24:35.9 set in 1974 by C.W. Post’s John Biedrzycki
  • Each of the top 15 finishers were under the overall course record
  • Christopher Perillo, Isaac Menis, and Brandon Garcia each ran personal-bests
  • The men’s scoring gap was one minute and 44 seconds
