Using a balanced offensive attack that saw four different goal scorers, No. 20 UAlbany won their sixth-consecutive game on Sunday afternoon. The Great Danes blanked non-conference foe Wagner, 4-0, to improve to 2-1 at home this season.
Burghardt and Carli Pelletier connected with 6:16 left in the first quarter to put the Great Danes ahead, 1-0. Bozek’s goal at 18:55 in the second quarter made it a two-goal game.
MacCallum added a goal early in the third and Hilditch gave the home team a 4-0 lead with her first career goal in the 46th minute. On the play, Cosima Rocktaeschel split a pair of defenders, then zipped a pass to an open Hilditch who was waiting near the left-hand post to tap it in.
The Great Danes’ defense put on another strong performance, holding Wagner to one shot. The UAlbany backline has allowed just one goal in its last five games.
