Coach Sykes: “It’s great to be back home after a long road swing. Playing five consecutive games on the road really builds a team’s character and helps them to overcome adversity. We had a shaky first quarter but after settling into the game and the comfort of our home turf, we really turned it around and played a much better game.”
The Great Danes’ offense put on a show on Friday afternoon, tallying eight total goals in a win against non-conference foe Sacred Heart.
Rocktaeschel finished the day with a career-high eight points (3g, 2a) and her first career hat trick, while MacCallum was UAlbany’s top playmaker, posting a personal-best three assists.

UAlbany held a 2-1 lead after the opening quarter behind goals from MacCallum and Rocktaeschel. Burghardt then added to the total with a tally in the second quarter as the Great Danes held a 3-1 advantage at the half.
