Recap

The No. 20 Great Danes got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a, 2-1, non-conference road win against Massachusetts. Senior goalkeeper Melissa Nealon had a strong performance in the cage, racking up six saves, as the squad improves to 2-0 against non-ranked opponents.

Junior Cosima Rocktaeschel notched the game-winning goal with a tip-in in front of the cage off an initial shot from sophomore Kelsey McCrudden. McCrudden is currently riding a four-game point streak (1g, 4a).

Dana Bozek broke open the scoring with a goal in the ninth minute. The tally was her third in two games as the senior leads all Great Danes with three goals and seven points.

Massachusetts later evened things at 1-1 with an unassisted goal in the third quarter.

The two squad’s traded shots early in the fourth, but neither could break the plain as both goalkeepers stood strong.

Nealon made four of her six saves in the second half and recorded her second win of the season, while her counterpart made four saves in the outing.

Up next: UAlbany continues its road swing with a Tuesday contest at in-state rival Colgate. The contest is slated to being at 5:30 p.m.
