Both teams had already clinched spots in the 2019 America East Tournament, but will have to wait to see where and against whom they will play following the conclusion of game between Stony Brook and New Hampshire, the other two teams to clinch tournament spots, on Sunday.
Despite playing without team points and assists leader, and assist career record holder Sam Tortora on Saturday, the Great Danes got on the board quickly, when Kendra Harbinger scored 39 seconds into the game, and then scored again just over 10 minutes into the first half to put UAlbany up 2-0. Both goals were unassisted.

Harbinger competed her hat trick with 10:15 remaining in the first, unassisted, sparking a four-goal run for the Great Danes to take a 7-1 lead. UMBC found the back of the net with seven seconds remaining and entered the break trailing 7-2.
UAlbany had outshot UMBC 18-10 in the first half, and had played the Retrievers evenly on draw controls. Harbinger scored all three of her goals in the game in the first half, while Zapolski found the back of the net twice in the first 30 minutes.
Madison Conway scored within the first minute of the second half to put UAlbany back up by seven. UMBC scored each of the next two before Julia Imbo scored with 18:03 remaining, kicking off a six-goal run for the Great Danes. Imbo and Zapolski each notched two goals during this run, which put UAlbany up 14-4 with 7:41 remaining.
