Game 1

Petzold went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the effort to lead to Great Danes at the plate as they used a five-run fourth inning to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Jimenez and Petzold combined to put the Great Danes ahead 3-2, before Shaye Swiatek’s RBI single extended the home team’s lead to 4-2. Love Drumgole added to the fun with an RBI ground out as the Great Danes scored five runs on four hits to pull away for good.

Falotico plated her team’s final run of the game with a single in the sixth inning, scoring Ely who got on base with a leadoff double.

The Hawks would cut the difference to three with an RBI double in the top of the sixth but Celeste Verdolivo would retire the final five batters to secure the 6-3 win.

Verdolivo went the distance in the circle, striking out seven on her way to recording her ninth win of the season.

Game 2

Entering the second inning down 1-0, the Great Danes battled, scoring eight unanswered runs heading into the final frame. Falotico notched her first homerun of the season with a two-run shot in the fifth inning for a 5-1 advantage.

The home team put up a three-spot in the fifth inning as Amelia Ely, Shaye Swiatek and Drumgole drew consecutive RBI walks to make it a seven-run game, 8-1.

Hartford snagged a run back in the seventh inning, capitalizing on a pair of Great Dane miscues. That would be the final run of the game as UAlbany closed out game two with an 8-2 win.

Up Next:  The Great Danes and Hawks round out the series on Sunday with a single game matinee. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. at Albany, N.Y.
