Short Story: The Great Danes wrap the second meet of the outdoor season, coming away with one freshman school record and a handful of personal-bests ahead of a split weekend in Florida and California.

 

Friday

 

  • Adelaide Cooke placed sixth in the women’s javelin in 92-08.00; Tori Reid placed ninth in 91-06.00, and Letti Hibbard placed 10th in 88-06.00
  • EJ Onah placed third in the women’s long jump in 18-10.00; Lynda Brundige placed fifth in 18-02.50
  • Victor Cotto placed third in the men’s long jump in 22-09.75
  • Amiynah Campbell placed fifth in the women’s hammer throw in a personal-best 168-05.00; Ludith Campos placed seventh in 157-00.00, and Lundy Spinner placed 13th in 133-09.00
  • David Carlson placed third in the men’s hammer throw in 140-09.00

  • Cooke placed fifth in the women’s discus in 131-09.00; Campbell placed sixth in 130-10.00
  • Bryan Nicholson placed second in the men’s discus in 147-09.00; Carlson placed third in 147-04.00

  • Devon Willis placed second in the men’s triple jump in 51-03.50; Robert Blue placed third in a wind-aided 48-04.75, and Omahri Sturdivant placed seventh in 45-03.50
  • Matthew Campbell placed fourth in the men’s high jump in 6-06.75
  • Anika Hibbard placed second in the women’s high jump in 5-08.00; Victoria Stoffel placed third in 5-06.00, and L. Hibbard and Alexandria Payne tied for seventh in 5-02.25
  • Shelby Bigsby placed second in the women’s shot put in 46-07.50, breaking the outdoor school record of 43-03.00 set in 2012 by Samantha Kosa; Cooke placed sixth in 40-11.50, and Samantha Ferrero placed 11th in 38-03.25
  • Carlson placed second in the men’s shot put in a personal-best 50-03.25
  • The women’s 4x100m relay of Jahari Coleman, Miriam Magassouba, Chidinma Matthew, and Brundige placed fourth in 47.56
  • Payne placed sixth in the women’s 100m hurdles in a wind-aided 15.15; Reid placed seventh in 15.48, and L. Hibbard placed 10th in 16.29
  • Matthew placed fourth in the women’s 100m in a personal-best 11.76; Coleman placed 11th in a wind-aided 11.97, Kayla Meade placed 28th in a wind-aided 12.41, and Magassouba placed 30th in 12.63
  • Matthew placed 10th in the women’s 200m in 24.29; Coleman placed 18th in 25.28, Meade placed 23rd in 25.80, Reid placed 29th in 26.45, Magassouba placed 30th in 26.47, and Payne placed 33rd in 26.62
