Colgate jumped out to an early lead, plating four runners in the top of the first.
UAlbany got one back in the home half of the first, thanks to an RBI single from Kelly Spear that scored Falotico.
The Great Danes would cut the difference in half in the third when Falotico got on base with an infield single and Petzold followed with an RBI double, making it 4-2.
Colgate added one run in the fourth before tacking on two more the next inning.
The Great Danes began to chip away at the Red Raiders lead with a two-spot in the home half of the sixth. Spear and Courtney Courtade scored on a pair of Colgate miscues, making it a 7-4 game.
The three-run buffer stood until the bottom of the seventh, as the Great Danes continued to battle, putting together a one-out rally in the that knotted the game 7-7. The game was over with the very next swing of that bat as Mariah Miramontez sent a two run shot over the fence, plating the final two runs to finalize the 9-7 decision.
After George Mason claimed a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second, the Great Danes answered right back with a pair of wins in the top of the third. Falotico lifted a sac fly to right field that scored Shaye Swiatek and Aliyah Wade scored on a throwing error.
Kelly Spear began the fourth with a solo homerun, sparking a five-run inning. Wade, Falotico, and Henige each collected RBI’s, helping to extend the Great Dane’s lead to 7-2.
The Patriots single in the sixth and doubled in the seventh but both runners were stranded. Verdolivo struck out a season-high seventh batters in the game.
