ALBANY, N.Y. — The University at Albany football team has announced a 12-game schedule in 2019 that features a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent as well as six home games at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
The Great Danes will open the season on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Central Michigan, of the Mid-American Conference. It’s the fourth straight season UAlbany faces an FBS program.
UAlbany’s home-opener follows a week later against Bryant on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The Great Danes’ eight-game Colonial Athletic Association schedule includes home games against William & Mary, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine, which played in this past season’s national semifinals.
“We think it’s a great schedule,” said Greg Gattuso, UAlbany’s head coach. “With four non-conference games, we have a great opportunity to get our young quarterback going. And we have a lot of experience coming back. We’re hoping to start out of the gate really strong. Central Michigan is great program and certainly will be a challenge, but we feel good about our opportunities in all four games.
“It’s of course a competitive schedule, with eight games in the CAA, one of the top leagues in the country. And the fact that we get to play six home games is great for our fans, too.”
Season tickets for the 2019 season are on sale now, starting at just $75. Fans purchasing seats in the Purple ($150), White ($125) and Grey ($100) levels have the option to add a portable seat cushion for $10 per seat.
