“That is a great team Marist has, they shot nearly 60 percent through the first three quarters. We knew it was going to take a big defensive effort to really challenge them, especially from the three-point line where they have multiple shooters. They really tested us from the outside and Kyara did a great job and showed so much toughness."

Recap: For the third time in four games, sophomore Kyara Frames scored 20-plus points. The guard recorded 23 points for the second time this season, but the UAlbany women’s basketball team couldn’t handle Marist who took home the 74-56 victory.
Frames knocked down a personal-best six three-pointers in the contest and finished the night with three steals, two boards and one helper. Senior Heather Forster grabbed a game-best 11 boards and chipped in with seven points.
Marist completed the game with five double-figure scorers, headlined by Alana Gilmer and Willow Duffell who totaled 13 points apiece.
Despite leading only by six points at the end of the first quarter, 22-16, the Red Foxes grew their lead to as many as 24 points in the third quarter.
The Great Danes saw a season-high 17 points come from their bench, paced by sophomore Patricia Conroy’s season-best seven points. Reserve Chyanna Canada added six points of her own in 23 minutes of action.
Marist outscored UAlbany in the paint, 26-14 and added 22 points off turnovers
Next Up: This was the final home game of 2018 for UAlbany who begins a three-game road stint next Saturday, December 15 at St. Francis Brooklyn. The Great Danes return to the SEFCU Arena on January 2 when they host Binghamton in the America East opener.
