Short Story: Chloe Evering turned in a 20 kill performance to help lead the Great Danes to a four-set comeback victory against Binghamton in the squad’s conference opener on Friday night at University Gym.

Evering is the first player this season to reach 20 kills in a single match. Grace Cozad and Akuabata Okenwa joined Evering with double digit kills, tallying 12 and 10, respectively.

  • After hitting an even .000 in the first set, UAlbany went on to hit for and average of .223 in the final three sets.
  • The 20 kills for Evering were a season high for the junior.
  • Freshman Andersen Vaughan posted a career-high 41 kills and 12 digs in the win.
  • Freshman Charlotte Macken earned a person-best 12 digs in the tilt.
  • Binghamton’s Kiara Adams led all players with 44 digs.
  • The Bearcats Samantha Gioiosa recorded 25 digs for a game high.

Notables:

  • Andersen Vaughan collected a personal-best 41 assist against Binghamton.
  • Vaughan earned her first collegiate start against UAB. She recorded 32 assists, six digs and three kills.
  • Dominque Fisher started her first collegiate game against the Vipers. She posted two kills and had one block in the match.
