ALBANY, N.Y. – US Lacrosse has announced that four former UAlbany men’s lacrosse players have been invited to the tryouts for the 2019 U.S. Indoor Team.
Connor Fields ’18, Adam Osika ’17, Joe Resetarits ’12 and Blaze Riorden ’15 are among the 46 players invited to the U.S. tryouts, held from September 26-30 in Syracuse.
Each Resetarits and Riorden played on the 2015 U.S. Team that earned the bronze medal in the World Games in Syracuse/Onondaga Nation. Fields and Osika will be trying out for the first time for the U.S. Team.
This team will compete for the 2019 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in next September in Langley, British Columbia. The U.S. Team has been the bronze medal winner each of the previous four FIL indoor championships: 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015.
The tryout in September will include practice sessions and games, where the U.S. team will be split into two teams to compete in the Lacrosse All-Stars North American Invitational.
Resetarits is set to begin his seventh season with the Rochester Knighthawks in the National Lacrosse League, while Blaze Riorden just completed his first year with the Whitby Steelhawks in the Arena Lacrosse League. Osika was drafted into the NLL last September by the Georgia Swarm, while Fields is eligible for this coming NLL Draft.
