ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany men’s lacrosse senior Kyle McClancy has selected as one of three finalists for America East Man of the Year, the conference has announced.
The America East Man & Woman of the Year will be given to the top male and female senior student-athlete who have best distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate career in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service and leadership, according to the league’s mission statement.
On the field, the senior midfielder is a two-time All-American and America East All-Conference First Team player, helping UAlbany reach its first-ever Championship Weekend in 2018. This year, he earned 29 goals and 19 assists for 48 points, adding 36 ground balls. He earned 127 points, off 78 goals and 49 assists, and 112 ground balls in his collegiate career. McClancy will play professionally for the Atlanta Blaze in Major League Lacrosse after earning drafted 10th overall back on April 18th.
Off the field, he is a USILA Scholar-Athlete, the 2017 America East Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a two-time member of the America East All-Academic Team with a 3.93 GPA in business. He has been part of numerous charity events and initiatives as an individual and as part of the team.
McClancy is one of three male finalists along with Stony Brook’s Tyler Anderson and Maine’s Sam Lenson. The America East Man of the Year will be selected on Tuesday, June 5th at the league’s annual awards dinner.
