How it happened
UAlbany struck first, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Chelsea Henige hit an RBI-double through the right side, bringing in Kelly Spear who was on base after a walk.
Kelly Barkevich hit an RBI-double through center field, bringing Henige around to score. The Danes scored two runs in the first inning.
Army scored one run in the first inning and one in the second inning, leveling the score 2-2.
UAlbany and Army both scored one run each in the sixth inning, keeping it a tied game. Army scored one last time in the bottom of the seventh, leaving UAlbany unable to retaliate. The first game ended 4-3 Army.
UAlbany was able to put three runs on the board by the second inning of game two. The first run of the game was scored by McKenzie Bump, who stole third and then advanced home on an error. Kelly Spear hit an RBI-double in the second inning, which was followed by Chelsea Henige’s RBI-single. The Great Danes were ahead by three in the top of the second inning.
Army retaliated by scoring one run in the second inning and three in the third inning, putting Army ahead by one.
Army scored again in the fifth inning. The Great Danes were able to score one final run in the seventh inning, but it wasn't enough to overtake the lead. The final score of game two was 5-4 Army.
