Short Story: UAlbany baseball falls 1-0 in the series finale against UMass Lowell to start America East play.
Coach Mueller: “Today was another tough ball game, just like all weekend. Runs were tough to come by. If you had told me we’d only give up four runs this weekend I probably would have said we were going to get a sweep, but unfortunately we were a little short today. Defensively we were good, and I thought John Clayton pitched great. Jack McClure came back and threw the ball outstanding in the last inning. UMass Lowell was just a little better today, and you have to tip your cap to them when they score one more run than you.”
John Clayton lasted 7.0 innings, allowing one run with six strikeouts
Jack McClure made his season debut, throwing one shutout inning with two strikeouts
How it happened
UMass Lowell scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the second inning
