OBETZ, Ohio – UAlbany men's lacrosse alum Bennett Drake has been added to the Ohio Machine player pool in Major League Lacrosse (MLL), announced by the team this week.
As part of the player poll, Drake will be able to compete for an active roster spot later this spring.
Drake becomes the second player of the UAlbany Class of 2017 to join the MLL ranks, along with Adam Osika, who currently is a member of the Charlotte Hounds.
Drake has been involved with both major lacrosse leagues, being drafted by the Georgia Swarm in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) in September.
Last year, he was selected to the America East All-Conference Second Team with 35 goals for UAlbany, eighth in the America East with 1.94 goals per game. Playing midfield and attack, he graduated in 2017 with 111 points off 80 goals and 31 assists in 64 games, adding 37 ground balls.
Drake was one of five players added to the Machine player pool this week.
