Short Story: The UAlbany baseball team fell in the second of a three-game series at James Madison 4-3 a day after winning the season opener in extra innings.
Coach Mueller: "Today was another tightly contested game. We had trouble generating offense which had something to do with the JMU pitching. Defensively we were solid and we again had different guys show flashes of what they can do."

How it happened
In the top of the third, UAlbany took a 2-0 lead when, with two runners on base, Connor Powers reached safely on an error by James Madison’s third-baseman, allowing Patrick Lagravinese to cross the plate
Next, Powers was caught stealing allowing Brad Malm to score from third
James Madison tied the game at two in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single followed by a bases-loaded walk
Responding immediately, UAlbany scored once in the top of the fifth when Lagravinese scored on a wild pitch after hitting a two-out triple down the right field line
James Madison took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth on a two-RBI single up the middle with two outs and runners on second and third
Down one heading into the ninth, UAlbany was retired in order, ending the game 4-3 in favor of the Dukes
