Short Story: After seeing the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the UAlbany baseball team scored three runs in the top of the 11th to win their season-opener at James Madison

Coach Mueller: “Tremendous win for the team today.  Both teams played hard and we collected a couple big, two-out hits in the 11th.  Great showing by a number of guys today.”

  • After a leadoff double from Kevin Donati in the top of the second, Chris Turco hit a sacrifice fly and Matt Codispoti hit an RBI double to left-center to put UAlbany up 2-0
  • James Madison tied the game at two in the bottom of the third
  • The Dukes scored one run in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead
  • With a runner on second, Pat Lagravinese hit an RBI single to right to tie the game at three
  • In the top of the eighth, Marc Wangenstein hit a two-RBI single to left, putting UAlbany up 5-3
  • Trailing by two, James Madison scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings
