Softball Announces 2018 Schedule
ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany softball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. The schedule includes 46 regular-season games, including four tournaments and 10 home games.
The season starts with a three-day, five-game series in Madeira Beach, Fla., for the EMU Madeira Beach Spring Invitational beginning on Feb. 23rd. Next, the team will head to Rock Hill, S.C., to compete in five games over three days at the Winthrop Invitational beginning on March 2. The third tournament of the season will be held in Hampton, Va., where the team will spend three days competing in five games beginning March 9 and concluding on March 11. After the Hampton Tournament, the Great Danes will play a double-header at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. The last tournament on the schedule will be a two-day stop in Emmitsburg, Md., at Mount St. Mary’s University beginning on March 24. During this tournament, UAlbany will face cross-town rival Siena on March 25.
Returning to Albany, the Great Danes will play a double-header against Central Connecticut State at home on March 28. The Great Danes will then spend the weekend playing three games at Stony Brook, including a double-header on March 31 and a single game on April 1. UAlbany will then travel to Amherst, Mass., to play a double-header against UMass on April 4.
Following two road-trips, the Great Danes will head back to Albany to play three games against Maine on April 7 and April 8. UAlbany will then face Binghamton in a double-header at home on April 11.
Heading out on the road again, the Great Danes will make a stop in Hartford, Conn., to play a double-header on April 14 followed by a single game on April 15. After their trip to Connecticut, the great Danes will head to Baltimore, where they will face UMBC in a double-header on April 21 followed by a single game on April 22. Next, UAlbany heads to Binghamton for a single game on April 25. Lastly, the Great Danes will play a three-game weekend in Delaware, including a double-header on April 28 and a single game on April 29 against Delaware State.
The Great Danes will then play a three-game series at home against UMass Lowell, with a double-header on May 4 and one game on May 5. The America East tournament will run from May 9 to May 12.
