Ghislaine Beerkens led UAlbany with two goals, extending the Great Dane win streak to five games.

RECAP The Great Danes powered through the UMass Lowell River Hawks 4-2. The first UAlbany goal came in the 9th minute. While the River Hawk goalkeeper was pulled out of the cage, Ghislaine Beerkens saw opportunity and dribbled to shoot an unassisted goal in the open net. However, in the 12th minute, UMass Lowell retaliated back. Sophie Gehrels took a shot in front of the cage from Clara Defourt. The 1-1 tie lasted until the 29th minute when Kelsey Briddell slid the Great Danes back into the lead. UAlbany earned a corner in the 28th minute. Briddell inserted the penalty opportunity creating a shot, which was then bounced off the goalkeeper. However, Briddell was there to take the rebound. Briddell lifted the ball past the defender to put the Danes ahead 2-1. Coming out of halftime, UAlbany extended its lead to 4-1 with a pair of goals in a 15-minute span. Beerkens tallied her second score of the outing in the 38th minute on a back-handed dribbler. Then Camryn Dias redirected a hard hit ball from Dana Bozek on target in the 50th minute. In the 59th minute, UMass Lowell earned a penalty stroke. Defourt took the successful shot to narrow the Great Dane lead to two. Neither team was able to produce another goal making in the final eleven minutes of play. The final score read UAlbany 4, UMass Lowell 2.
COMMENTS FROM THE COACHING STAFF "I was very proud of our team's effort today. A big focus for us today was our team defense. I thought we stayed very disciplined throughout the game. UMass Lowell is a good team and they out played us the first time around. Our girls were very focused and ready today and it showed in their play," said head coach Phil Sykes.
