“This weekend was very important to us as a team to finish out our regular season on a high note. The team hung tough and made up for the five stroke deficit to catch the team in front of us. We have traveled to amazing destinations this season including Hawaii and Florida, but we haven’t played the strongest golf. So today it was uplifting to come out with the victory,” said Head Coach Colleen Cashman-McSween.
Helga Einarsdottir (78-78) and Paige Fujihara (74-82) were the top scorers for the Great Danes tying for fourth place with total scores of 156, +12. Following close behind, was Megan Henry (81-79) who tied for eighth place. Rounding out the lineup was 13th place Caroline Juillat (82-81) and 15th place Annie Songuen Lee (82-84).
“We have been practicing hard all of last week and I think it showed in this tournament,” said senior captain Paige Fujihara. “Definitely headed in the right direction going into conference this Wednesday. It was the confidence boost we needed”.
The Great Danes head to Lake Buena Vista, Florida at Disney’s Magnolia Course to compete in the MAAC Conference Championships Friday, April 21st through Sunday, April 23rd.
