UAlbany Women's Soccer Finishes Regular Season, Hosts UML and Maine at Casey Stadium

ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany women's soccer team will look to earn a spot in the America East Tournament with its last two games at home, taking on UMass Lowell on Thursday, October 22nd at 7 p.m. and Maine on Sunday, October 25th at 2 p.m. at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
Sunday's game will be Senior Day for UAlbany. Celia Balf, Shelby Belak, Alana Brennan, Allison Carhart, Krista Fitzpatrick, Kelly Kempf, Leanne Miller and Kari Quinn will be honored in a pregame ceremony before the Maine game.
Attendance for both games at Casey Stadium is free to the public. Each game will be broadcast live online and for free on AmericaEast.tv.
Since UMass Lowell's start in Division I two seasons ago, UAlbany is unbeaten against the River Hawks at 1-0-1, battling to a draw 2-2 on the road last year. UAlbany defeated Maine 2-0 in the 2014 America East Tournament quarterfinals last year, standing 3-10-2 against the Black Bears.
UAlbany defeated Vermont on the road 2-0 on Sunday to snap a three-game losing streak, entering the week at 7-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the America East. UMass Lowell fell at Stony Brook 1-0 on Sunday for a 5-11 overall and 2-4 AE tally. After Maine lost to Binghamton 2-0, it is 8-6-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the AE.
UAlbany is currently the tied for second in goals in the America East with 21. Vivian Vega is tied for fifth in the league with six goals while Alexa Schneider is tied for seventh with five. Fitzpatrick and Kiana Rugar, each tied for the UAlbany program of assists with 12, stand with five assists each this year. Alana Olivieri has started the last two games in goal, earning a shutout against Vermont on Sunday.
The lone River Hawk with double digit points, freshman forward Katelyn Vieira has the team high in goals with seven and assists with three, while sophomore forward Shannon Groffie has scored four goals. In goal is freshman Julia Schneider, who allows 2.15 goals a game with a 68.3% save percentage.
Senior forward Charlene Achille is Maine's leading scorer, standing with five goals and two assists. Freshman forward Vivien Beil is the leading assistant with four, adding three goals. In the cage is junior Claudia Dube-Trempe, 2014's America East Goalkeeper of the Year, with an 81.7% save percentage and 1.05 goals allowed average.
