SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The UAlbany women's soccer team will head to central New York to play a pair of games in the SU Soccer Tournament, playing Colgate on Friday, August 28 at 4 p.m. and Syracuse on Sunday, August 30 at 3 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Neither match will be live streamed, but live stats will be available through the Syracuse athletics website.  Fans wishing to attend the game may enter free of charge.

This is the 10th meeting between UAlbany and Colgate in the DI era and first since 2012.  The Raiders currently lead the series 7-2, including the last three, capped by a 6-1 win in Hamilton in 2012.  UAlbany is looking for its first win over Syracuse, standing 0-6-1 in the series, including a 5-1 defeat last year in Albany.

UAlbany returned from a trip to North Carolina last week, defeating Davidson 2-1 and falling in double overtime to Campbell 4-3 on Monday.  Colgate fell in its first two games of 2014 over the weekend, last falling at home 3-0 to Boston College.  Syracuse will open at home over the weekend after a pair of road games to start the year, last falling 1-0 to Providence on Sunday.

The UAlbany women's soccer team spent six days in the state of North Carolina to begin the 2015 season.  UAlbany won its first contest against Davidson 2-1 and came back from down two against Campbell, falling 4-3 in double overtime.  Kiana Rugar scored goals in each contest, putting all four of her shots on goal.  Alexa Schneider earned a goal and an assist vs. Campbell while freshman Mariah Williams scored her first collegiate goal against Davidson for the eventual game-winner.

Colgate is predicted to finish second in its conference in 2015, led by four Preseason All-Patriot League players.  Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Sarah Coy, a junior midfielder, scored eight goals last year.  Senior Erin Cummings started the first two games in goal, allowing 3.5 goals a game.

In the ACC preseason poll, Syracuse was predicted to finish 11th.  Graduate student midfielder Alexis Koval already has five points in her first two games with two goals and an assist, while senior Maya Pitts has a goal and two assists.  Sophomore Courtney Brosnan has saved five of six shots combined two starts this year.
