Ogbonna started his season at the Shamrock Invitational where he finished third in the high jump. Competing in the high jumop, Ogbonna placed first in the America East Outdoor Championships, second at the Northeast Challenge, third in the Spring Classic, and sixth at the Florida Rays College.

Competing exclusively in the high jump, Ogbonna opened his season at Connecticut’s Northeast Challenge, where he placed second, clearing a height of 6’-6.75”. At UAlbany’s Spring Classic, Ogbonna placed third, clearing a season-best height of 6’-10.25”. At the America East Outdoor Championships, Ogbonna placed second in 6’-8.25”. He placed eighth at IC4A Outdoor Championships, clearing 6’-8”. In his final meet, the NCAA East Preliminary Championships, Ogbonna placed 33rd overall, clearing a height of 6’-8.25”.

Ogbonna opened the season at the Spring Break Classic, placing second in the high jump with a season-best mark of 6’-8.75”. He also ran the 200m for the first and only time, placing 35th in 23.86. Ogbonna placed second in the high jump at the Dogfight against Connecticut, clearing a height of 6’-4.25”. At the UAlbany Spring Classic, Ogbonna earned his second consecutive second place high jump finish, clearing a height of 6’-6.25”. Competing in the eastern section of the high jump at the Penn Relay, Ogbonna placed fifth, clearing 6’-6.75”. Ogbonna placed third in the high jump at the America East Outdoor Championships, clearing 6’-6.25”. He placed second at the Purple & Gold Last Chance Meet, clearing a height of 6’-5.5”. At IC4A Championships, Ogbonna placed fourth overall, clearing 6’-8.25”. Ogbonna’s season finally ended at the USATF Junior National Championships, where he placed fourth overall, clearing a height of 6’-8.75”.

Ogbonna opened the season at the Penn State Indoor Relays, placing fourth in the high jump, clearing a height of 6’-6.25”. He placed sixth at the Great Dane Classic, clearing 6’-8.25”. He placed third at the Columbia Invitational, clearing 6’-6”. Obgonna earned his first collegiate victory at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, clearing a height of 6’-9”. At the America East Indoor Championships, Ogbonna rounded off a UAlbany top-three high jump sweep, placing third with a height of 6’-8.25”. Ogbonna’s season ended at IC4A Championships, where he placed eighth overall with a personal-best mark of 6’-10.75”.

Ogbonna attended Walter Panas High School, where he played basketball as a point guard and shooting guard for three years and competed in track only in his senior year. He is the Lakeland School District record holder in the high jump, and was the second best high-jumper in New York State during the 2013 outdoor season. He was a 2013 All-League, All-County, and All-Section selection in the high jump, and was a member of the league championship team.

Personal:
Kingsley C. Ogbonna is the son of Oliver and Chidi Ogbonna. He has three brothers, Ike, Chubike, and Emmanuel. He plans on majoring in biology.
