ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's soccer team announced its upcoming 19-game 2013 schedule on Tuesday, June 11. The Great Danes have on tap three 2012 NCAA Tournament participants (Cal State Northridge, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Syracuse), four new opponents (Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, Monmouth, and Dartmouth), and 10 home games in the 2013 season.

“We're excited by what promises to be an outstanding, challenging, schedule,” said third-year head coach Trevor Gorman. “Our goal is to play against top programs, and every team on this year's schedule has a great tradition of success. We're also looking forward to having 10 home games and the opportunity to play in front of our fans in the capital region so many times.”

The Great Danes open up the season with a trip to California. UAlbany will play in the Cal State Northridge Tournament to face the Matadors on August 30th and finish with Cal State Fullerton on September 1st.

UAlbany hosts Lehigh in its home opener on September 7th. The Great Danes follow up with a road trip to New Rochelle, N.Y. to face Iona on September 10th and a return trip back to campus to play Bucknell on September 13th.

The Great Danes alternate home and away contests for the final four games of the month (Fairleigh Dickinson (home), Monmouth (away), Siena (home), and Darmouth (away)).

Gorman and co. begin their search for the program's first America East Conference Tournament title by opening up conference play against Stony Brook on the road on October 4th.

Following a non-conference home contest against Yale on October 8, the Great Danes hit the road for the next two of three conference contests (UMBC and Vermont) with a home conference game in between against UMass-Lowell on October 16th.

UAlbany will look to strengthen its record in the final stretch of the season with four straight home contests. The homestand will span from October 22nd through November 2nd against Syracuse, New Hampshire, Hartwick, and Hartford.

The Great Danes cap off the 2013 regular-season with a road trip to Binghamton on November 6.

The America East Tournament runs Nov. 9-16. The top six teams will qualify for the event with the top two seeds earning first round byes.
