Indoor Shatters Four Records Across Two Meets Saturday

NEW YORK -- The University at Albany men's and women's indoor track and field teams
were nearly perfect Saturday as the Great Danes broke a school record in four of
the six events in which they competed.
UAlbany had four relay teams participate in the 106th Millrose Games at the NYC
Armory. Both men's and women's 4x200m relay squads shattered the program and
meet records. The women's team consisting of Jillian Haynes (24.7), Annie
Johnson (24.7), Kahlia Taylor (25.0), and Alli Rogers (24.5) ran a 1:39.05
mark.
The men boasted a new best of 1:27.70 with Donald Williams (21.9), Taariq Jones
(22.3), Winston McCormack (21.6), and Jonathan Santana (21.8) running the legs.
The women's distance medley relay team with Brianne Bellon (3:34.9 1200m), Tynelle
Taylor-Chase (57.1 400m), Sherez Mohamed (2:12.9 800m), and Kathryn Fanning (4:49.1
1600m) also set a new school record, finishing in 11:34.18, as they placed
third overall and first at the college level.
In UAlbany's last event of the day, the men's 4x800m relay
squad placed fifth in a strong field with a time of 7:40.59. The team consisted
of John DeLallo, Daryl Subran, Chris Buchanan, and Dylan Lowry.
Meanwhile, upstate at the Cornell Denault Invitational, Pat McNish broke her
own program record with a 20' 4.5" leap in the long jump. The mark currently
ranks 13th in the nation. Alfonso Scannapieco also competed at the
meet in the pole vault.
The Great Danes are back in action March 1-3 when they compete in the IC4A/ECAC
Championships in Boston, Mass. UAlbany is a three-time IC4A champion.
