McNish Named America East Field Performer Of The Week
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Pat McNish, a senior on the University
at Albany women's indoor track and field team, garnered the America East Field
Performer of the Week honor, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
At the Armory Collegiate Invitational, McNish (Great Neck,
N.Y.) placed first in the College Division finals with a career-best indoor mark
of 40'4.75” in the triple jump. The senior's leap ranks as the best in the
America East this season and is in the top 50 nationally.
McNish was also stellar in the long jump, placing 10th in the
Championship final (19'8.25”). She beat out athletes from a number of national
Top-25 programs, including LSU, Texas A&M, Clemson and UConn.
The Great Danes are back in action Feb. 11-12 in Boston,
Mass. for the America East Championship. McNish will look to defend her reigning
long jump and triple jump titles, while the women's squad as a whole will
battle for their third indoor championship in the last four years.
