ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany's Megan Craig earned
her first career America East Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor, after registering a career
week and leading the conference in scoring, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Craig, a native of Whangerai, New Zealand led the
conference in scoring with 19.5 points per game, while shooting 64.3 percent from the floor, to lead UAlbany to a 1-1 record last week. The sophomore center also averaged six rebounds per
game. In a mid-week game at Michigan State, Craig scored 12 points and
pulled down three rebounds in 20 minutes of action. In a home win over
Dartmouth on Saturday, Craig scored a career-high 27 points in 31 minutes, and
just missed out on her first career double-double with nine rebounds. She also finished with one assist and one block against the Big Green to lead
the Great Danes to victory.
