ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University at Albany remains ranked in the 2012 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches' Poll, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Tuesday. The Great Danes stand at #21 in the country after winning their only game last week.
UAlbany, which defeated Hofstra, 3-1, on Friday, has now been nationally ranked since the first week of the 2010 season. The Great Danes dropped two spots from the preseason poll, but still stand ahead of America East Conference foes New Hampshire (24th) and Maine (25th).
The Great Danes face two nationally-ranked opponents this week. UAlbany will host #15 Michigan on Friday and 7th-ranked Connecticut on Sunday.
