State.
"We are extremely excited about our non-conference
schedule this year," said head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, entering her
third season at the helm of the Great Dane program. " The goal was to add
more teams that will make us compete at the highest level to prepare us for our
America East Conference play."
The Great Danes will kick off the league slate on Wednesday, January 2,
visiting UMBC. After traveling to Binghamton on Jan. 5th, UAlbany
will host Maine (1/12), New Hampshire (1/16) and Hartford (1/19) before
visiting Boston U. on Jan. 23. The Vermont Catamounts will enter SEFCU Arena on
Saturday, Jan. 26, while the Great Danes will head to Long Island to take on
Stony Brook on Jan. 30.
Binghamton (2/2) and UMBC (2/6) will start play in February, before the
Great Danes head north to Maine on Feb. 9, and visit Hartford on Feb. 17.
UAlbany will play host to Boston U. (2/21) before returning the trip to Vermont
(2/24) and New Hampshire (2/27). The Great Danes will close out America East
regular-season play on March 2, hosting Stony Brook at SEFCU Arena.
"All of the teams in the America East are extremely
talented this year, with a lot of veteran coaches and players," offered
Abrahamson-Henderson. "We will be in for a tremendous challenge every game
we compete in. We are really excited for the 2012-2013 season."
Both America East Conference Men's & Women's Championships will
take place in UAlbany's home arena on March 8-10.
