Cambridge, Mass. - Led by the men's basketball program, who had a conference-high 10 members, UAlbany had 139 student-athletes named to the America East Conference Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Thursday. Of those, 67 student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, completing the spring semester with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher.

            The women's track and field program had the highest numbers, with 29 overall honorees, 17 which reached Commissioner's Honor Roll status. The men's track and field program followed with 27 members and 13 Commissioner's distinctions. Men's lacrosse placed a total of 18 student-athletes, with seven on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, while women's lacrosse had 16 honorees, eight of which achieved over a 3.50. Baseball followed with 15 members, two Commissioner's Honor Roll members, while softball placed 11 overall, with six reaching Commissioner's status.

            Men's basketball had the best ratio, with 10 overall honorees and seven Commissioner's Honor Roll members, while women's basketball placed seven student-athletes on the honor roll, with four Commissioner's recipients. Rounding out the winter/spring sports was tennis, which placed six out of seven team members on the honor roll, with half of them posting a 3.50 GPA or better.

            Across the conference, over 1,200 student-athletes were named to the honor roll, with 645  being named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll. UAlbany finished fourth with 139 recipients, following Binghamton (176), UMBC (150) and Vermont (145). Maine (134), New Hampshire (132), Stony Brook (131), Boston U. (131), and Hartford (115) rounded out the nine member institutions.
