A nagging injury cut short Anthony’s senior-year indoor season, and delay the start of her final outdoor season as a Great Dane. She finally made her debut at Connecticut’s Northeast Challenge, where she won the 100m hurdles with a wind-aided time of 13.99. Anthony earned two first-place finishes at the UAlbany Spring Classic, in the 100m hurdles with a wind-aided 13.95, and in the 4x100m relay in 46.64. Anthony placed 22nd in the 100m hurdles at the Penn Relays in 14.39, and also ran a leg on the 4x200m relay that placed 31st in 1:42.46. At the America East Outdoor Championships, Anthony won the 100m hurdles for the second consecutive year, crossing the line in 13.85. She also placed seventh in the 200m in 25.03, after running a season-best 24.84 in the preliminary round. Anthony earned two first-place finishes at UAlbany’s Purple & Gold Last Chance Meet, in the 100m hurdles with a wind-aided 14.06, and in the 4x100m relay in 46.72. In her final meet as a Great Dane, ECAC Outdoor Championships, Anthony set a personal-best of 13.81 in the semifinals of the 100m hurdles. Anthony did not compete in the event’s finals, electing instead to attend her graduation ceremony, thus ending her UAlbany career on a high note.

Anthony opened the season at Penn State’s Nittany Lion Challenge, where she placed sixth in the 60m hurdles in 8.72, after running 8.62 in the preliminary round. She also placed seventh in the 60m in 7.95, after running 7.93 in the preliminary round. At Cornell’s Upstate Challenge, Anthony won the 60m hurdles in 8.55, and placed fifth in the 200m in 25.33. Anthony set a school record in the 60m hurdles at the Armory Track Invitational when she ran 8.38 in the semi-final round. In the trials, she had surpassed her previous personal-best with a time of 8.48. In the finals, which were broadcast on NBCSN, Anthony placed fifth in 8.45. After placing fourth in the 60m hurdles in 8.57 at Boston University’s Valentine Invitational, Anthony won the 60m hurdles at the America East Indoor Championships for the third consecutive season. She ran 8.52 in the finals after recording a time of 8.48 in the preliminary round. Anthony also placed sixth in the 200m in 25.21, after running a season-best 25.11 in the preliminary round, and placed seventh in the 60m in 7.84, after running a season-best 7.74 in the preliminary round. Anthony did not compete for the remainder of the indoor season due to injury, which prevented her from competing in the 60m hurdles at USATF Indoor Championships.

Anthony opened the season at the Texas Relays, where she placed 44th in the 100m hurdles in 14.21. She also ran on the 29th place 4x100m relay that finished in 46.72. The same weekend, Anthony placed fifth in the 100m hurdles at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational in a season-best 14.07, and fourth as a member of the 4x100m relay in 46.70. At the dual meet against Colgate, Anthony won the 100m hurdles in 14.37, first as a member of the 4x100m relay, and second in the 400m hurdles in a season-best 1:08.43. Anthony ran a wind-aided 14.13 to place second in the 100m hurdles at UAlbany’s Spring Classic, where she also placed sixth in the 200m with a wind-aided 25.16, and 10th in the 100m with a wind-aided 12.57. At the Penn Relays, Anthony placed eighth as a member of UAlbany’s shuttle hurdle relay that finished in 59.01. At the America East Outdoor Championships, her first time competing in the meet due to shortened outdoor seasons the previous two years, Anthony won the 100m hurdles in 14.08, nearly matching her season best. She also placed third as a member of the 4x100m relay and 11th in the 200m in a season-best 25.90. Anthony only ran the preliminary round of the 100m hurdles at UAlbany’s Purple & Gold Last Chance Meet, crossing the line in 14.57, which was her last result of the season.

Anthony opened the indoor season at the Penn State Indoor Relays, where she placed fifth in the 60m hurdles in 8.66 and 11th in the 200 in 25.95. At UAlbany’s Great Dane Classic, Anthony placed fourth in the 60m hurdles in 8.73. She won the 60m hurdles at Cornell’s Upstate Challenge in 8.63, placed sixth in the 60m in a season-best 7.95, and sixth in the 200m in 25.53. Anthony won the 60m hurdles for the second consecutive meet at Columbia’s Invitational, crossing the line in 8.67. She also placed sixth in the 200m in 25.23. Anthony earned her third consecutive sixth-place finish in the 200m at the Armory Collegiate Invitational running 25.24 in the finals after a 25.09 in the preliminary round. Anthony ran a leg on UAlbany’s second-place finishing 4x200m relay at the Millrose Games, helping the team to a time of 1:41.50. Anthony won the 60m hurdles at the America East Indoor Championships for the second consecutive year, crossing the line in 8.64. She placed sixth once again in the 200m in a season-best 24.88. In her final meet of the season, ECAC Indoor Championships, Anthony placed second overall in the 60m hurdles in 8.59, after running a season-best 8.54 in the preliminary round.

Anthony competed in two meets during the outdoor season. She started at the Spring Break Classic in Puerto Rico, where she placed fourth in the 100m hurdles in a season-best 14.99. She also set a season-best in the 100m, placing 14th in 13.27. At the Central Florida Invitational, what would be Anthony’s final meet of the season, she placed 11th in the 100m hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.76.

Following a shortened freshman outdoor campaign, Anthony began her sophomore indoor season at the Army Crowell Open, where she placed second in the 60m hurdles in 9.00. Anthony next competed at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge, where she placed fifth in the 60m in 8.01, after running a season-best 7.97 in the preliminary round, and second in the 60m hurdles in 8.88, after running 8.77 in the preliminary round. She placed fourth in the 60m hurdles at UAlbany’s Great Dane Classic in 8.81, and set a season-best in the 200m of 26.30 to place 41st. Anthony placed sixth in the 60m hurdles at Boston University’s Terrier Classic, finishing with a time of 8.76. After placing sixth in the 60m hurdles at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, Anthony won the same event at the America East Indoor Championships in a season-best time of 8.72. Anthony placed 19th in the 60m hurdles at ECAC Indoor Championships to finish her season.

Anthony’s best time in the 60m hurdles came at the America East Indoor Championships, where she ran 8.87 in the preliminary round, before finishing seventh overall in the finals with a time of 8.98. She ran her best 200m of the season at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge, crossing the line in 26.50.

High School:

Anthony was a three-year letter winner in indoor and outdoor track at Kellenberg High School, where she served as team captain during her junior year. In 2011, Anthony placed second in the 55m hurdles at the New York State Championship Meet. She competed in New Balance Outdoor Nationals as a junior and senior. Anthony was named team MVP as a junior and a senior, and during her time at Kellenberg, she earned All-League and All-State honors.

Michelle Anthony is the daughter of Gerald and Wilda Anthony. She has two brothers, Andrew and Wayne, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Myra.
