Lewisburg, Pa. - Peter Burke scored three times and Todd Heritage had the go-ahead goal in the third quarter in leading Bucknell to an 11-9 non-league win over UAlbany on Saturday, March 26 at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The Bison have won five of their last six contests.
     Bucknell (7-2) led 8-6 after Heritage scored a man-up goal with 36 seconds elapsed in the third period. UAlbany (3-4) followed with a pair to draw even. Miles Thompson connected off Joe Resetarits' feed. The Great Danes later killed off a slashing penalty, before Brian Caufield hooked up with Ty Thompson on the game-tying goal.
     UAlbany goalkeeper Edmund Cathers made one of his 21 saves by thwarting Charlie Streep's attempt, but Heritage would pick up the ground ball to score unassisted with 3:59 remaining in the stanza. The Bison, who avenged a one-goal loss to UAlbany one year ago, added two goals early in the final quarter. Jake Clarke won the face-off at the start of the period which led to Streep's second goal of the game. Goalkeeper Kyle Feeney's save and successful clearing attempt contributed to freshman Peter Burke's goal.
     The Great Danes broke a 3-3 deadlock in the second quarter by scoring three times in a span of one minute and 51 seconds. Resetarits, who had a career-high point total with three goals and three assists, connected off Ty Thompson's pass following a Bucknell turnover. Freshman Eric Sanders tallied for the first time as a collegian in a man-advantage situation after a slashing penalty. Thompson gave his team a 6-3 lead eleven seconds later when Keith Olson won the subsequent face-off.
     Bucknell regouped with four unanswered over a three-plus minute stretch to take a 7-6 lead to the locker room. Ryan Klipstein, a first-team All-Patriot League attackman, was involved in three of the four goals. He set up Burke to slice the deficit to 6-5, before drawing his team even with 5:49 left in the period. Streep, a junior midfielder, put his team ahead 30 seconds later.
     Miles Thompson finished with three goals, while Ty Thompson had two goals and one assist for the Great Danes, who have dropped three straight. The Bison, who are ranked in the USILA (#17) and Nike/Inside Lacrosse (#18) national polls, were led by Burke, who had three goals and one assist.

Paw Prints: Goalkeeper Edmund Cathers set the program's Division I single-game freshman record with 21 saves ... Kevin Rae held the previous mark of 20 saves set against Quinnipiac on May 1, 2002 ... UAlbany is in the current USILA (#16) and Nike Inside (#15) Inside Lacrosse polls, but this week's two losses will move the Great Danes out of the rankings ... Joe Resestarits had his best day as a collegian with six points ... Resetarits, who has a 26-game, point-scoring streak, previously had five points against Massachusetts (2009) and Delaware (2010) ... the Great Danes have played five top-20 teams this season.
