Trevor Gorman enters his third season as head men's soccer coach for the Univeristy at Albany Great Danes. Through his first two seasons, Gorman has seen a steady improvement since taking over as head coach. In two seasons, the Great Dane head coach is 12-21-4 overall and 4-7-3 in conference play.

In 2012, the Great Danes appeared in the America East Conference Tournament for the second consecutive seasons since 2005-2006. UAlbany held a home postseason conference game for the first time since 2008. Gorman's squad saw an improvement in conference play, going 3-4-0 and finishing fifth (finished 6th and tallied a 1-3-3 record in 2011). Freshmen Anthony Rozzano, Philip Persson and Tim Allen were named to the America East All-Rookie Team.

In his first season at the helm of head coach in 2011, Gorman brought the Great Danes back to the postseason for the first time since 2008. UAlbany went into the America East Conference postseason as the four seed and won its first conference postseason game outright, 3-2, over Vermont (previously won its first postseason match in penalty kicks vs. Vermont in 2005). The Great Danes saw their goal production almost double in 2011, scoring 22 goals (13 in 2010). UAlbany finished the season 6-10-3 and 1-3-3 in league play.

University at Albany Vice President and Director of Athletics Lee McElroy announced on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 the hiring of Trevor Gorman as head men's soccer coach. Gorman was previously an assistant coach for one season at Wright State University.

At Wright State, Gorman assisted in all aspects of the Horizon League program. He planned training sessions, prepared scouting reports, handled video analysis, and coordinated recruiting, with emphasis in the area of international student-athletes. Last year, he coached at the club level with the Ohio Galaxies and the Upper Valley Lightning in Hanover, N.H.

From 2007-09, Gorman was an assistant at Dartmouth College, where the Big Green appeared in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments and won an Ivy League championship. In Gorman's three seasons, Dartmouth had a combined 32-17-4 record and eleven players earned All-Ivy recognition.

A native of State College, Pa., Gorman played for his father at Penn State University where he was a midfielder on the 2002 Big Ten Conference championship squad and a pair of NCAA teams. His father, Barry, is the all-time winningest coach in Penn State history with 266 career victories and 13 NCAA appearances.

After earning Academic All-Big Ten honors, Gorman enrolled in graduate school at the University of North Carolina. During that period, he worked for UNC's sports marketing division and his responsibilities included contract fulfillment for clients, promotions and the Tar Heel Sports Network. He also coached with the Sanford Area Soccer League and the Triangle United Soccer Club.

Gorman, who has a B.A. in business management, has a sports publicity background, having worked in Penn State's sports information office. He assisted at the NCAA Men's and Women's College Cups and the Atlantic Coast Conference men's and women's soccer tournaments. In addition, Gorman was a sideline reporter for Fox Soccer Channel's college broadcasts.

Gorman, who holds a NSCAA Premier Coaching Diploma, earned a master's degree in exercise and sport science with an emphasis in sport administration from North Carolina.
