Indoor Track Heads To Fastrack National Invite
ALBANY, N.Y.—The University at Albany indoor track and field team will return to the Ocean Breeze Complex this weekend for the Fastrack National Invite. This will be their fifth meet of the season, and the last chance for the Great Danes to compete before the America East Championship next weekend.
“The purpose of the meet is to produce more ECAC and IC4A or NCAA qualifying performances,” said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Roberto Vives. “We also want to improve the student-athletes seed times. So for the mid-distance and distance runners, we’d like them to get in the conference sections next week and have the 4x400-relay go 3:09.00 or better, and I think this group is capable of that.”
“We’re looking forward to tomorrow because I think a lot of students can perform,” said Vives. “We’re only sending a small group, so everyone else can focus on getting ready and rested for conference.”
The meet will begin on Friday, February 12, at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. Start time is set for 12:30 P.M.
