Shamrock Results | Spring Classic Results

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C and CAROLINA, Puerto Rico—The University at Albany outdoor track & field program split over the weekend in their first meets of the season. Part of the team competed at the three-day Shamrock Invitational, while the rest attended the Carolina Spring Break Classic.

Shamrock Invitational:

In the men’s 100-meter dash, Robert Harris III placed fourth overall in 10.80. His trial time of 10.59 mark qualifies for the IC4A standard and ranks him at 17 in the East Region. Jaymen Teemer placed 11th in the preliminaries in 10.70. His mark puts him at 32nd in the region and met the IC4A standard.

Elliot Everett was 12th in the 200-meter in 21.79, placing him 34 in the region and meeting the IC4A standard.

Ryan Udvadia placed third in the men’s 5,000-meter race in 15:06.37, ranking him 15th regionally. Jordan Johnson was ninth in 15:26.69 to rank 33rd and Calvin Butlak ran a 15:32.29 for 11th, ranking him 36th in the region.

The men’s 4x100-meter relay of Mande Semon, Robert Harris III, Jaymen Teemer, and Elliot Everett ran a collective time of 41.23 for seventh place. Their marked puts them at 21st in the region and satisfies the IC4A standard.

The 4x800-relay of Harold Lamour, Austin Sperl, Zachary Cook, and Matthew Gladysz placed sixth overall in 7:51.60.

In the field events, Alexander Bowen won the men’s high jump with a mark of 7’2.25”, hitting the IC4A standard and placing him 2nd in the region. His mark also broke the previous meet record. Kingsley Ogbonna placed third, clearing a mark of 6' 10.75". Matthew Campbell followed in fourth with a mark of 6’ 10.75”. Both Ogbonna and Campbell are tied for 5 in the region and met the IC4A standard.

Devon Willis placed first overall in the triple jump with a mark of 50' 4", qualifying him for IC4A and 9th in the region.

Eric Del Vescovo placed fifth with a mark of 52’ 10.25. He is 33rd in the region and hit the IC4A standard.  Phillip Udeogu was 10th in the javelin with an IC4A mark of 196’ 9”, placing him 31st in the region.

Jonathan Eustache held top marks in two events and qualified for IC4A in each of them. In the men’s weight throw, he was ninth with a mark of 175’08”, placing him 43rd in the region. Eustache also placed sixth in the discus with a mark of 164' 7" for 27th in the region.

Spring Break Classic:

In the 200-meter race, Senior Jason Tomlinson placed ninth overall in 22.03, satisfying the IC4A standard.

UAlbany swept places 2-5 in the 400-meter race. 10.  Myles Banfield placed second overall in 47.81 for 10th in the region. Jason Tomlinson was third 48.23 for 19th in the region. Momodou Jobe placed fourth in 48.42 for 25th in the region, followed by Matthew LeLiever in fifth place with a time of 48.74 for 34th in the region. All four met the IC4A standard.

Freshman Sidney Gibbons placed sixth in the 100-hurdles. His time of 14.82 met the IC4A standard and places him 42nd in the region. Gibbons was also 10th in the 400-hurdles in 57.47. Jeremiah Obeng-Agyapong placed seventh overall in the 400-hurdles, running a time of 56.40.

Next up UAlbany will head back south for the Florida Relays on Thursday, March 31st through Saturday, April 2.
