UAlbany women's lacrosse announces 2018 schedule
ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s lacrosse team, ranked No. 18 in the Inside Lacrosse preseason poll, unveiled a challenging schedule Thursday that includes three matches against preseason top 10 opponents.
Because of facility maintenance at Fallon Field, the Great Danes will play each of their seven home matches at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
Home matches include a March 11 contest against Penn State, ranked No. 6 nationally in the preseason poll, and the regular-season finale against No. 2 Stony Brook on April 28.
"Appreciative and looking forward to having Penn State grace our confines this season, with three top 10 teams in the country on our schedule this year," UAlbany head coach John Battaglino said. "We have a lot of young, developing talent that has made great strides this fall, and more is going to be expected from them as we move forward. "
The Great Danes, who open the season at Yale on Feb. 17, also travel to No. 9 Syracuse on Feb. 22.
UAlbany is coming off a 12-6 season (5-1 America East) that included an appearance in the conference championship game and an at-large NCAA Tournament berth.
