Raegan Moore joined the UAlbany staff as the team’s graduate assistant in July 2017.
After beginning her collegiate career at Valparaiso, Moore transferred to Duquesne. With the Dukes, Moore finished her senior season as one of the top shooters in the Atlantic 10 Conference. She set a school record and tied an A-10 record when she hit nine 3-pointers against Kent State. Moore led the Dukes to 88 wins and four straight postseason berths.
Moore obtained her bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in childhood psychology – both from Duquesne.
After graduation, Moore worked as mental health therapist in Pittsburgh before taking at position at the University of South Carolina, working in the USC athletic department. While in Columbia, she worked as a learning assistant, helping student-athletes that had learning disabilities or read at a low-reading level. Moore then spent a stint overseas playing professionally in Finland for Aanekoski Huima. She averaged 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds starting all games before returning to the states to pursue a career in coaching.
Moore got her coaching start as an assistant varsity coach at Villa Maria Academy in Erie, Pa., which is 20 miles outside her hometown of Girard. She helped the Victors to a 22-6 record, the PIAA Class 4-A District 10 title and a berth in the state championship game.
