Garnett has worked as an academic coordinator for UAlbany student-athlete academic services since 2016.
She is the academic advisor for UAlbany women's basketball, women's lacrosse, volleyball, men's soccer and baseball. She is responsible for identifying and addressing the academic needs of student-athletes, providing academic counseling and creating tutoring and academic programs for student-athletes.
Previous to UAlbany, she was the assistant director of student-athlete academic services at Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania, working with five different sports. She also was a graduate assistant at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), serving as an assistant academic advisor for over 200 student-athletes.
Garnett played basketball at Marist College, being a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team twice and helping the Red Foxes win three conference championships. While at Marist, she was a peer mentor and a programming tutor counselor.
She graduated from Marist in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in communications, with a dual concentration in sports communication and radio, TV and film. She earned her Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration with a 3.9 GPA from UMKC in 2015.
