Baseball vs. Saint Peter's Cancelled; Brown Added
ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany baseball doubleheader at Saint Peter’s originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 21 has been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions. No make-up date has been announced.
The two games against the Peacocks are the latest in a stretch of UAlbany’s schedule in the last week that have been altered due to the effects of Winter Storm Stella. The cancellations started with the second half of a four-game series at NYIT, after which the storm forced the cancellation of the scheduled Fordham Tournament. The Great Danes and one of their planned opponents at Fordham, Hofstra, cobbled together a three-game series over the weekend in Virginia to make up for it. In total, UAlbany has lost eight of 17 games to start the season, and have made up three.
In place of the Saint Peter’s doubleheader, the Great Danes instead will visit Brown on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
This, weekend, UAlbany will open America East play with a three-game series at UMBC. One additional schedule change involves the start time of the games on Saturday and Sunday moving up to 12:00 p.m., from 3:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.
