When competing in he 100m run, Harris placed first in both the Northeast Classic and the Spring Classic, second at the America East Outdoor Championships, and fourth at the Shamrock Invitational. Harris placed third at the Northeast Challene and fifth at the America East Outdoor Challenge when he competed in the 200m run.

Harris III opened the season at the Shamrock Invitational. He won the 100m in a personal-best 10.62, and placed fifth as a member of the men’s 4x100m relay. He took second place in both the 100m and the 200m at Connecticut’s Northeast Challenge in 10.53 and 21.61 respectively. Both marks were wind-aided. He also finished second as a member of the 4x100m relay team. He earned a 4x100m relay victory at UAlbany’s Spring Classic, and ran a wind-aided 10.62 in the preliminary round of the 100m. Harris III didn’t record another result until IC4A Outdoor Championships. There, he placed seventh in the 100m in 10.85, after recording times of 10.75 (w) and 10.71 in the trial rounds, and placed fifth as a member of the 4x100m relay. Harris III ended his season at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships, where he placed 35th in the 100m in 10.66.
Harris III opened the season at Penn State’s Nittany Lion Challenge, where he placed sixth in the 60m in 6.96, and eighth in the 200m in 22.42. He placed fifth in the 200m at Cornell’s Upstate Challenge, finishing in 22.76. Harris III placed second in both the 60m and the 200m at the America East Indoor Championships, with times of 6.94 and 22.08 respectively. Both times were season-bests. Harris III ended the season at IC4A Indoor Championships, where he placed 18th in the 60m and 25th in the 200m in 7.04 and 22.28 respectively.
Harris III opened the season at the Spring Break Classic, where he competed in three events. He placed first and fifth as a member of the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams, respectively, and placed 10th in the 100m with a time of 11.03. He ran on the 4x100m relay team that placed 23rd at the Texas Relays, as well as the 4x100m relay team that won the Texas State Bobcat Invitational the same weekend. Additionally, Harris III placed fourth in the 100m at Bobcat with a wind-aided time of 10.59. His efforts in Texas earned him America East Men’s Track Performer of the Week honors, in a week where UAlbany won all four performer awards. He placed second in the Dogfight against Connecticut in the 100m with a wind-aided 10.87, and was again on the victorious 4x100m relay team. At the Upstate Classic, Harris III only ran the 4x100m, again helping the team to victory. He repeated his Dogfight workload at UAlbany’s Spring Classic, again winning the 4x100m relay and placing 11th in the 100m with a wind-aided time of 10.88. Harris III helped UAlbany qualify for the IC4A Finals section of the 4x100m at the Penn Relays, where the team finished fifth. Harris III competed in three events at the America East Outdoor Championships. He ran a wind-legal season-best in the 100m, placing third in 10.70. He placed fifth in the 200m with a wind-aided 21.86, after setting a wind-legal season and collegiate-best of 22.14 in the preliminary round. Finally, he ran on the victorious 4x100m relay team. At IC4A Championships, Harris III placed 20th in the 100m in 10.93, and helped his 4x100m relay team place sixth overall, after qualifying fourth in the preliminary round.
Harris III opened the season at the Penn State Indoor relays, placing fourth in the 60m with a time of 6.98. He ran on UAlbany’s 4x200m relay at the Millrose Games, where the team finished second. Harris III split 21.5 in the race. At the America East Indoor Championships, Harris III qualified first in the preliminary round of the 60m, setting a collegiate-best of 6.91. He would place third in the finals in 6.96. He qualified eighth in the 200m in 22.45, and improved on his time and place for the finals, finishing fifth in a season-best of 22.41. Harris III ended his season at IC4A Championships placing 14th in the 60m.
Harris III was a four-year letter-winner in track and field and football at Cardinal Hayes High School where he was team captain in his junior and senior years. Harris III played wide receiver and defensive back, accumulating 976 all-purpose yards, three touchdowns, and 49 tackles as a senior. For his career, Harris III recorded 129 tackles and scored eight touchdowns. In 2011, he was named All-City as a defensive back. He was named team Most Valuable Runner in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and was MaxPreps Defensive Player of the Week in 2011. He was a member of the 4x100m CHSAA Champions in 2010, 2011, and 2012, as well as the 4x200m CHSAA Champions in 2011. Harris III was also a member of the President’s Men of Cardinal Hayes in his senior year.
Robert E. Harris III is the son of Robert Harris Jr. and Ingrid Spears in Memphis, Tennessee. He has two brothers, Cameron and Caiden Spears. His major is currently undecided.
