Campbell started his season at the Shamrock Invitational where he finished fourth in the long jump. He coninued his season at both the Spring Classic, and the Northeast Challenge, where he finished second in he long jump. Campbell finished first when competin in the riple jump at th America East Outdoor Championships.

Campbell competed in the Jamaican National Championships, also known as the Jamaica Trials, after his outdoor season ended. He placed fourth overall, clearing a height of 6’-10.75”.
High Jump: 6’-11.75”
Long Jump: 20’-6.5” (w)
Triple Jump: 43’-10.5”
In addition to the high jump, and a return to the triple jump, Campbell also saw competition in the long jump during the outdoor season. All of Campbell’s long jump attempts were wind-aided. He placed second in the high jump in the first meet of the season, the Shamrock Invitational, clearing a season and outdoor best height of 6’-11.75”. He won Connecticut’s Northeast Challenge, clearing 6’-10.75”, and placed second at UAlbany’s Spring Classic, clearing 6’-11.5”. He cleared the same height in the Championships section of the Penn Relays to place third. He won his first America East Outdoor title in the high jump, clearing 6’-10.25”. After placing fifth in the high jump at IC4A Outdoor Championships, Campbell placed 33rd at NCAA East Preliminary Championships, ending his season.

Campbell won the high jump in his first meet, Cornell’s Upstate Challenge, clearing a personal-best height of 7’-0.5”. He didn’t compete again until the America East Indoor Championships, where he placed second in 6’-10.75”. He also placed second at Boston University’s Last Chance Meet, clearing 6’-8.75”. His season ended at IC4A Indoor Championships, where he placed fourth overall in 6’-9.5”.
High Jump: 6’-8.75”
In a season shortened due to injury, Campbell placed second in the high jump at the spring break classic, clearing his seasonal best height of 6’-8.75”. He didn’t competed again until nearly two months later, winning UAlbany’s Spring Classic in the high jump clearing 6’-7”. He ended the season placing fourth at IC4A Championships, clearing 6’-8.75”.

Campbell’s first meet was UAlbany’s Great Dane Classic. He placed third in the high jump, clearing 6’10.25. At the Columbia Invitational. Campbell placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 44’-0.5”. Campbell placed second at the America East Indoor Championships in the high jump, clearing a personal-best mark of 6’-10.75”. He also set a personal-best in the triple jump, placing seventh with a mark of 44’-2.75”.
Campbell transferred to UAlbany from the University of the West Indies.
Campbell attended Ardenne high school in St. Andrew, Jamaica. He was captain of his track team as a junior and senior. He also played soccer as a goalkeeper.
Matthew Dale-Andrew Campbell is the son of Ray Campbell and Ambrogene Smart. He has two brothers, Sheroy and Ray, and two sisters, Jameil and Ameri. He plans to major in Human Biology.
