Head Coach
Roberto Vives
Roberto Vives enters his 31st season as the director of UAlbany's track & field and cross country programs in 2015-16. In that period, Vives has coached 143 All-America athletes and 14 individual NCAA champions. Ten of his athletes have been inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame, the most recent individuals being Samantha Cohen and Howard Sellers in 2011, and the 1984 Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams in 2014.   FULL BIO

Todd Wolin
Todd Wolin enters his seventh year at UAlbany, while beginning his first season as the program's Associate Head Coach for Track and Field/Cross Country. His coaching duties include the combined events, high jump, and high hurdles, while also overseeing the pole vault. In addition, Wolin is the Meet Director for all Great Dane invitationals, as well as the program's historian and record keeper.   FULL BIO

Assistant Coach
Matt Jones
Matt Jones enters his eighth season as an assistant coach of the Great Dane track and field program and his third as head coach of the cross country program. He has been involved in track and field and cross country development for three decades in the Capital Region. Jones is responsible for coaching the middle distance runners who primarily compete in the 800-meter run, the 1,000, 1,500 and the mile. He also works with the 4x800-meter relay team as well as the distance medley relay.   FULL BIO

Nadir Simohamed
Nadir Simohamed, a native of Algiers, Algeria who arrived in the Capital Region in 1997, begins his eighth season as the horizontal jumps coach at the University at Albany. Simohamed's athletes have helped the Great Danes win 20 America East Conference championships.   FULL BIO
Assistant Coach
Deshaya Williams
University at Albany Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Roberto Vives announced the hiring of Deshaya Williams as the program's new assistant coach in July 2013. A Saratoga High School product, Williams gained coaching experience at Penn State, Clemson, Fredonia and St. Lawrence. As an athlete, she was the first NCAA Women's Champion in Penn State history (discus, 2003) and competed in two Olympic Trials.   FULL BIO
