Head Coach
Chris Cannata
Chris Cannata, a four-time America East Conference coach of the year and winningest head coach of the UAlbany softball program, enters her 20th season. During her tenure at UAlbany, the Great Danes have compiled a 533-281-1record overall, a 152-64-1 mark in America East play, a .656 winning percentage and have averaged over 30 wins per season. Cannata has also led the Great Danes to four NCAA Tournament appearances as well as three America East regular-season championships and four tournament titles since the program joined Division I in 2000. The club, which has won at least 30 games in the last eight of ten seasons, has never finished lower than fourth in the America East standings   FULL BIO
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Jack Coons
This spring will mark Jack Coons' 31st year working with the UAlbany softball program. Since his arrival at UAlbany in 1982, Coons has been an integral part of the Great Danes' success while managing the pitching staff. During that period, UAlbany has compiled over 590 wins and has reached post-season play 25 times. In Coons' tenure, the Great Danes pitching staff has recorded 13 no-hitters, the nation's lowest Division III ERA (0.34), and the Division III record for the most strikeouts per seven innings (12.41). Both marks were established in 1995. UAlbany also won the NYSWCAA tournament three times and the ECAC Division II tournament in 1999.   FULL BIO
Assistant Coach
Kate Gentile
Coach Gentile comes to UAlbany after spending time overseas in North Holland where she served as the assistant softball coach at Olympia Haarlem, focusing primarily on pitchers and catchers. In 2012, she was an assistant coach at California State University, East Bay, a Division II school. Previous to Gentile's coaching career, she was a member of the 2002-04 Pennsylvania State University Softball team competing in both the NCAA regional tournament (2003) and the Big Ten tournament (2004). Gentile graduated from Penn State in 2004 receiving a B.A. in Political Science.    FULL BIO
Assistant Coach
Joe Reardon
Joe Reardon enters his 13th season as the hitting coach for the UAlbany softball team. He also assists with recruiting and is the third base coach. In addition, the Great Danes have produced some of the best hitters the league has seen during his tenure.   FULL BIO
