Men's Track Wins Twelfth Straight Indoor Championship

The University at Albany men's track & field team has won its 12th consecutive America East Indoor Championships. The men scored 205 points over the two-day meet to defeat runner-up UMass Lowell's 129.5 points, and third place Binghamton's 123 points. It is the men's 14th indoor title in the last 15 years.

Men and Women Lead Indoor Championships After Day One

Seeking their tandem fourth consecutive America East indoor titles, the University at Albany men's and women's track and field teams found themselves in first place after the first day of competition. The men had scored 45 points, ahead of Binghamton by just one half point, and Vermont by nine points. The women held a more commanding lead, with 52 points to Binghamton's 38 and UMass Lowell's 29.

Track & Field Looks To Defend Indoor Titles

Championship season has finally arrived for the University at Albany track & field program, who will kick off proceedings with the America East Indoor Championships this weekend. Both the men and the women are defending champions. The men will seek their 12th consecutive title while the women will look for their fifth straight.

Men Seventh, Women 10th In Week 5 Rankings

The University at Albany track & field program saw both the men's and the women's teams fall in the Northeast regional rankings this week, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday. While inactive last weekend, the men fell two spots from where they were a week ago to seventh, while the women dropped one spot to 10th.

Hibbard, Willis Sweep Weekly Field Awards

University at Albany jumpers Anika Hibbard and Devon Willis have been named America East Field Performers of the Week, the conference offices announced Tuesday. They are joined this week by track performers Eric Holt from Binghamton, and Elinor Purrier from New Hampshire. It is Hibbard's second consecutive weekly award, and Willis' first of the season.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released Monday its Week 4 Regional polls. The University at Albany men drew fifth in the Northeast this week, down one spot from Week 3, while the women held stead at ninth.

After opening competition at the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas Friday, the University at Albany track & field program wrapped up their time at the Razorbacks' facility with the second day of the meet, which featured performances from eight Great Danes.

Track Kicks Off Final Weekend Before Conference Championships

Friday represented the beginning of the final weekend of competion for the University at Albany track & field program before the America East Indoor Championships in two weeks. Thirteen Great Danes traveled yesterday to compete in the two-day Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas, and the rest of the team returned once more to Ocean Breeze for the Fastrack National Invitational.

Last weekend, the University at Albany men's 4x400m relay team broke an 11-year old school record to win the Boston University Scarlet & White Invitational. This weekend, the team will seek to improve upon their 24th ranked time in the country at the prestigious Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas, as part of another split weekend for UAlbany track & field.

Track Lands Three In Weekly Awards

The University at Albany at Albany track & field program landed three student-athletes in the America East weekly awards, the conference offices announced Tuesday. Senior Matthew Campbell, junior Niamani Morrison, and Myles Banfield were named performers of the week for men's field, women's track, and men's track, respectively. Stony Brook's Kaylyn Gordon was named women's field performer.
